Muon g-2

As an undergraduate at Boston University, I worked on the Muon g-2 experiment, whose measurement of the muon anomalous precession frequency is one of the most precisely measured observables of nature.

My primary focus was on the straw trackers, used to measure the decay positron position and momenta. This information was used to extrapolate the muon decay point in the beam and cross-check measurements with the calorimeters. I spent much of summer 2017 at Fermilab working on improvements in the software used to analyze event data and began work on a GEANT-based extrapolation code. I completed my senior thesis on the electric dipole measurement of the muon with the g-2 experiment.
